The Baltimore Poetry Library at The University of Baltimore is happy to announce the inauguration of the Carol Peirce Memorial Poetry & Performance Series. On April 15, we host an incredible night of readings by five women who have, in one way or another, challenged the traditional constraints and subjects of lyric poetry.
The evening will open with a casual tour of The Baltimore Poetry Library at 7 PM, followed by readings from K. Lorraine Graham (Washington, DC), Jane Lewty (Baltimore), Nicole Steinberg (Philadelphia), Marci Nelligan (Lancaster, PA), and UB veteran Tracy Dimond (Baltimore). We’ll have a short break in-between for local brews and snacks, as well. And if the mood calls for it, we’ll head up to The Brewer’s Art so you can meet the poets and buy them a drink.
Bios and links can be found below in the comments section. The first 25 attendees will receive a unique, handmade, handprinted chapbook featuring the work of all five poets.
This is a free event, but we will ask for donations to support the library. The poets will have books for sale, so please bring your pocketbooks.
